Bike the Waterfalls of the Columbia Gorge

presented by Around Portland Tours

Saturday, May 18
8:30am - 1:30pm

Portlanders are famous for never riding a bike anywhere without a good cup of coffee, and we will start the morning with Coava’s hand-poured lattes, cappuccinos and pourovers.

After that we will get fitted for bikes and drive out to the stunning viewpoint in the Columbia River Gorge, the Vista House. Our ride will take us down windy scenic roads and along the famous “waterfall corridor” with stops for short hikes to waterfalls framed with mosses, ferns, bigleaf maples in full cover, and the astonishing scent of wildflowers like fringecups and vanilla leaf. (This is one of the Peloton’s Emma Lovewell’s scenic rides!)

We’ll bring along some local sandwiches for a lunch at the end of the 10 mile / 18 km ride. Easy pace, moderate gentle hills.

• ADA: E-bikes are available and we can also accommodate deaf guests.

• Dietary restrictions: Can accommodate dietary restrictions including vegan/gluten free.

Forest Park Adventure Hike with Portland's Best Chocolate

presented by Around Portland Tours

Saturday, May 18
10:30am - 1:30pm

We’ll combine must-dos for any Portland visit: hiking in the forest and artisan makers!

We’ll meet at a coffee shop at the edge of the Nob Hill/Forest Heights neighborhood before setting into Forest Park for a 3-5 mile, 5-8 km hike with about 800 feet elevation gain. We’ll hike past the witch’s castle and through the hundreds-year-old forest, learning the history of the trees, the flowers, the ferns, the people who settled this place in the 1800s and those who thrived in one of the oldest civilizations in the world here before them.

Once we reach one of the best viewpoints in Portland — the Pittock Mansion — we’ll enjoy chocolate treats from Portland’s best makers and chocolate shops with a view of the city below and the mountains in the distance. After we reach the top, we’ll have an option to hike more for a more energetic experience or hop in a ride share back to the city center.

• ADA: Can accommodate blind or deaf guests.

• Dietary restrictions: Can accommodate dietary restrictions including vegan/gluten free
